Grounding blocks are a necessity when it comes to the protection of any outdoor TV, CCTV, SATV, or CATV installations. The cable that connects between devices can build up static electricity that can increases your chance of a lightning strike. The grounding block will discharge this electrical build up in the line. We recommend that you ground the coaxial cable right before it enters the building by connecting it to a separate ground with the use of a grounding rod (sold separately). This grounding block is suitable for satellite, cable, off-air, internet or any other coaxial cable signal. This unit is also power passive and should be used with a ground rod (not included). The ground block is made of zinc die-cast, has an anti-corrosion overcoat, has two F81 connectors installed and one ground screw lug. The F81 connectors accept up to 6 AWG (RG6) wire. Includes mounting screws.
