Passive Infrared (PIR) monitors the patterns of background heat energy within a given space with technology that detects static heat signatures. Ultrasonic Technology is an advanced technology that works very similar to sonar by sending out high frequency sounds waves, which cannot be detected by the human ear. The sound waves deflect off walls and furniture in the room to detect changes in the space and return to the motion sensor. When an object moves within this space, even behind furniture, the ultrasonic sensors will detect the change in sounds waves and trigger the system.
